Jes Valentine

Jes Valentine is a tattooer and owner of Haven, a private studio located in Brooklyn, New York. She has worked various jobs in the tattoo industry over15 years and has been tattooing for a decade. She was originally trained in traditional tattooing, but then honed her skills to specialize in fine line tattoos, and later extended her craft to cosmetic tattooing as well. Currently, her favorite style to tattoo is "cute-traditional." After working in environments that reeked of toxic masculinity, and hearing horror stories from her clients about negative tattoo experiences in the past, she decided that the tattoo industry was in need of a serious change. With that, she created Haven to be unlike any other shop she has worked at—a 100% women-owned and operated studio that is safe for ALL body types.

She has had her work featured in press outlets such as The New York Times, New York Post, Nylon Magazine, Inked Magazine, Buzzfeed, Refinery29, Elle Australia, Oprah Magazine, Syfy Network, and the Today Show. Outside of tattooing, she is half of Seltzer Squad: A podcast about staying sober in the city, and is the proud mom of Regina George II, a sweet French Bulldog who you may see lounging around the studio.

When she isn’t doing tattoos, she spends her time binging true crime podcasts and shows, rewatching Friends and Killing Eve, listening to Bowie and Olivia Newton-John, obsessing over the latest 90 Day Fiancé drama, or planning adventures with her amazingly talented fiancé (and co-owner!) Cameron Cox.
